About Banasura Meenmutty Waterfalls
Banasura Meenmutty Waterfalls is a major waterfall attraction in the Padinjarathara side of Wayanad district, Kerala. According to DTPC Wayanad, the water descends through dense forest and rocky terrain from a total height of more than 800 feet. The waterfall is arranged in tiers: the first is reached by a short walk from the parking area, while higher sections involve a more demanding climb over steps and boulders.
From the upper area, visitors can look across the Banasura Sagar Dam and the surrounding valleys, giving this destination a strong mix of waterfall scenery and mountain views. The site is distinct from the Meenmutty waterfall associated with the Meppadi side of Wayanad, so travellers should check the correct destination before setting out. DTPC places Banasura Meenmutty about 5 km from Banasura Sagar Dam and roughly 25 km from Kalpetta.
