About Meenmutty Waterfalls (Vaduvanchal)

Meenmutty Waterfalls near Vaduvanchal is one of the best-known waterfall landscapes in Wayanad district, Keralam. Keralam Tourism describes Meenmutty as a three-tiered cascade dropping about 300 metres amid the lush Western Ghats and identifies the nearest town as Meppadi. Its route-and-location service separately places Meenmutty about 8 km from Vaduvanchal via Chellankodu, which helps distinguish this attraction from Banasura Meenmutty and Makkiyad Meenmutty elsewhere in Wayanad.

The waterfall’s appeal comes from the combination of steep rocky terrain, dense vegetation, forest paths and expansive hill scenery. Historically, reaching the falls has involved a demanding trek, and Keralam Tourism advises visitors to check current access rules, weather and local safety guidance because trails can become slippery and entry conditions may change. The surrounding Vaduvanchal–Meppadi belt is also known for tea, coffee and other plantations, giving the approach a classic Wayanad high-range character.

For nature travellers, photographers and experienced walkers, Meenmutty offers a strong sense of the district’s rugged landscape, but it should be visited with appropriate footwear and respect for any Forest Department restrictions in force.
