The temple stands within the Nattika–Valapad area and is closely associated with the river landscape of coastal Thrissur. The Thrissur District Administration identifies it as one of Keralam’s important temples dedicated to Lord Rama and as the first major stop in the Nalambalam pilgrimage.
Nalambalam Darshan links Thriprayar with Koodalmanikyam Temple at Irinjalakuda, the Moozhikkulam Lakshmana Temple and Payammal Shathrughna Temple. Devotees traditionally complete the circuit during Karkidakam, while Thriprayar also has its own significant festival calendar. Keralam Tourism highlights Pooram Purappadu, Uthram Vilakku and Vrischika Ekadasi among the best-known observances.
