Ilanjippara Waterfalls

Ilanjippara Waterfalls is a forest waterfall in the Marottichal area of Puthur Panchayat, Thrissur district, Kerala. Marottichal is known for a cluster of cascades, including Olakkayam and Ilanjippara, reached through a green landscape that has long attracted trekkers and nature enthusiasts. The appeal comes from the forest setting, rocky stream courses and stronger flow during and after the monsoon.

However, access to the deeper Ilanjippara route has been restricted at different times by the Kerala Forest Department because of safety, navigation and conservation concerns. For that reason, the waterfall should not be treated as an unrestricted trekking destination. Visitors should confirm the latest Forest Department or local authority guidance before travel, obey barriers and guards, avoid entering closed forest sections and never rely on old trekking directions found online.
