Paniyeli Poru

Paniyeli Poru is a forest-fringed ecotourism destination on the Periyar River in Ernakulam district, around the Perumbavoor region of Kerala. Kerala Tourism links the name “Poru” to the struggle once faced by bamboo raftsmen against the river’s strong currents. Today the destination is known for rocky river channels, small cascades, clear stretches of water, birdlife and green walking routes.
