Kunchan Nambiar Smarakam

Kunchan Nambiar Smarakam in Ambalappuzha, Alappuzha district, is dedicated to Kunchan Nambiar, the influential poet and performer associated with the creation of Ottan Thullal. Although born in present-day Palakkad district, Nambiar spent an important part of his life in Ambalappuzha, where his sharp humour and social criticism became closely linked with Kerala's performing-arts tradition. DTPC Alappuzha notes that the memorial was established in 1967 and stands at the place where he was buried.
