Canoly Canal

Canoly Canal is part of Kozhikode’s historic inland waterway network and remains an important element of the city’s backwater geography. Kerala Tourism includes the canal among Kozhikode’s notable aqua-tourism locations and describes it as a favourite area for boating. The waterway also runs beside Sarovaram Biopark, where canal scenery is combined with protected wetlands, mangroves and visitor walkways.

Unlike a single lake or enclosed tourist park, the canal extends through multiple parts of Kozhikode. The character therefore changes from one stretch to another, with urban edges, vegetation and connecting waterways creating different views along its course. For most visitors, the Sarovaram area offers one of the easiest tourism-oriented ways to experience the canal and its wetland environment.
