Payamkuttimala

Payamkuttimala is a scenic hill destination near Vadakara in northern Kozhikode district, Kerala. Kerala Tourism places the hill at roughly 2,000 feet and about five kilometres from Vadakara, with elevated views that can include the Arabian Sea, Wayanad mountain ranges, the Thikkodi lighthouse area and Velliyamkallu on clear days. Its accessibility and broad outlook have made it a popular local viewpoint.

The tourism area includes landscaped spaces and visitor amenities, with Kerala Tourism mentioning a garden, cafeteria, watchtower and other basic facilities. A Muthappan Madapura is also associated with the hill, adding a local cultural element. Payamkuttimala is especially convenient for travellers visiting Lokanarkavu Temple, as the approach lies close to the Vadakara–Tiruvallur road and the Memunda side.

Sunrise and sunset are popular times, though visibility depends on cloud and seasonal weather. Visitors should stay within designated areas, avoid exposed edges and take extra care when paths are wet. Together with Lokanarkavu and Vadakara's coastal heritage, the hill provides a balanced nature-and-culture itinerary.
