About Gotheeswaram Beach
Gotheeswaram Beach lies in Beypore, one of Kozhikode's best-known maritime neighbourhoods. The beach has emerged as a notable adventure-tourism location because Kerala Tourism has highlighted a government-sponsored surfing school established here with support from tourism and adventure agencies. Its wave conditions have made the shore useful for surf training and demonstrations, while the beach itself retains the relaxed character of the Malabar Coast.
For general visitors, Gotheeswaram offers broad Arabian Sea views, sandy shoreline, evening light and an opportunity to experience a less formal coastal setting away from the busiest parts of Kozhikode city. The beach can be combined with Beypore's harbour, traditional uru shipbuilding heritage, marina-side attractions and nearby coastal viewpoints for a fuller day trip. Conditions along Kerala's coast change considerably with season and monsoon weather, so swimming or surfing should only be attempted when local conditions are safe and, for water sports, under appropriate supervision.
