Vattavada

Vattavada is a high-altitude agricultural village in Devikulam taluk of Idukki district, roughly 42 km from Munnar according to Keralam Tourism and Keralam Revenue sources. Often associated with Keralam’s vegetable-growing high ranges, the village is known for terraced farms, garlic, strawberries and other cool-climate crops. The cultivated slopes, small settlements and surrounding mountains create a rural landscape very different from the large tea estates closer to Munnar.

Vattavada is also closely linked with the nearby Pampadum Shola and Anamudi Shola landscapes, making it useful for travellers combining farm scenery with the eastern Munnar region’s forests and biodiversity. Visitors come for photography, quiet drives, local produce and the experience of seeing high-range agriculture at close quarters. Tourism here should respect working farms, village life and forest regulations.
