Chokramudi Peak

Chokramudi Peak is one of the prominent trekking mountains in the Munnar region of Idukki, Keralam. Keralam Tourism describes the trail as moving through changing high-range landscapes, from tea-growing country into shola forest, grassland and exposed mountain terrain. The peak rises to roughly 2,195 metres and offers wide views across the Western Ghats, with distant high-range landmarks visible when weather is clear.

This is not a casual roadside viewpoint. Keralam Tourism classifies Chokramudi among the more difficult Western Ghats treks, with steep inclines and terrain that demands reasonable fitness, suitable footwear and careful route planning. Heavy rain and mist can make the trail slippery and reduce visibility, while exposed sections require caution even in good weather. Chokramudi is most rewarding for travellers who approach it as a genuine mountain trek rather than a quick photo stop, allowing enough time for the ascent, changing scenery and safe return.
