Why this place stands out
Anandashram is a 1931 spiritual retreat in the Kanhangad-Ajanur area of Kasaragod, Keralam, founded by Swami Ramdas and Mother Krishnabai and known for meditation, bhajans and universal service.
Anandashram is one of the best-known spiritual centres in northern Keralam, located in the Kanhangad area of Kasaragod district. Keralam Tourism records that the retreat was founded in 1931 by Swami Ramdas and Mother Krishnabai to promote universal love and service to humanity. The campus occupies a peaceful green setting beside the Manjampally hill and includes spaces for prayer, meditation and quiet reflection.
Visitors may also encounter the bhajan hall, book facilities, gardens and other ashram services that support its simple spiritual way of life. The destination is less about sightseeing in the conventional sense and more about experiencing calm surroundings, devotional practice and the inclusive philosophy associated with the founders. Anandashram can be combined with nearby Kanhangad attractions such as Nithyananda Ashram and Hosdurg Fort.
Visitors should maintain the quiet atmosphere and follow the ashram’s current rules, meal arrangements and prayer schedules.
