Rosemala

Rosemala is a remote hill and forest destination in the Aryankavu region of Kollam district, Kerala, close to the forests of Shendurney Wildlife Sanctuary. DTPC Kollam describes it as a hidden natural retreat where the route itself is part of the experience, passing through wooded terrain, streams and rich Western Ghats vegetation. Viewpoints around Rosemala open towards valleys and the Thenmala reservoir landscape, while the surrounding forest supports butterflies, frogs and varied plant life.

The destination has a more rugged character than a developed hill resort, which makes it especially appealing to nature enthusiasts, photographers and travellers interested in walking or trekking. Local guidance is advisable for forest routes, and access can be affected by rain and road conditions. Rosemala is often combined with Aryankavu, Palaruvi Waterfalls, Thenmala and Shendurney as part of an eastern Kollam itinerary.
