Pampady Dayara is a well-known Malankara Orthodox monastic and pilgrimage centre at Pothenpuram near Pampady in Kottayam district. The Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church records that Kuriakose Mar Gregorios, widely remembered as Pampady Thirumeni, began his ascetic life at Pothenpuram in 1914 and later developed the Dayara. His mortal remains are interred here, making the monastery an important place of pilgrimage.
Church records also note that the remains of Metropolitan Mathews Mar Ivanios are entombed at the Dayara. A reliquary preserves items associated with Pampady Thirumeni, including personal and liturgical objects, adding a historical dimension to the devotional visit. The present complex continues to serve religious, educational and social-service functions.
Its location away from the busiest part of Pampady gives the site a calm atmosphere suitable for prayer and contemplation.
