Maramon Convention Venue

The Maramon Convention Venue lies on the broad sandbanks of the Pampa River at Maramon, near Kozhencherry in Pathanamthitta district, Keralam. Every year, usually in February, the riverbed is transformed into a large temporary convention ground for the Maramon Convention, organised by the Mar Thoma Evangelistic Association. The gathering traces its history to 1895 and has grown into one of the most recognised Christian conventions in Asia, drawing speakers, clergy and participants from India and abroad.

Unlike a permanent auditorium, the identity of the venue comes from the seasonal riverside setting: temporary structures, large congregations and the Pampa landscape together create the distinctive Maramon experience. Outside convention days, travellers encounter a much quieter stretch of riverbank and can better understand the geography that shaped the event. Maramon is close to Kozhencherry and can be included with Aranmula, Cherukolpuzha and other Pampa River cultural destinations in Pathanamthitta.
