Cherukolpuzha Convention Venue

Cherukolpuzha is a well-known religious and cultural destination near Ayiroor in Pathanamthitta district, Keralam. The convention venue lies beside the Pampa River and is associated with the annual Cherukolpuzha Hindu Matha Convention, a long-running gathering organised by the Hindu Matha Maha Mandalam. Usually held in February, the convention brings together spiritual teachers, scholars, cultural personalities and devotees for a week of religious discourses, prayers and community programmes.

The open riverside setting gives the event a character very different from an urban conference centre; the Pampa sandbanks and surrounding village landscape form part of the experience. At other times of the year, Cherukolpuzha is quieter and can be visited as part of a Pampa River route linking Ranni, Kozhencherry, Maramon and Aranmula. Travellers attending during the convention should plan for crowding and altered traffic arrangements, while ordinary visits are better suited to those seeking the rural scenery and cultural context of the venue.
