Aranamala Peak

Aranamala Peak is a scenic highland attraction reached from the Meppadi side of Wayanad district, Keralam. The Keralam Revenue Department lists Aranamala among the tourist places of Kottappadi village in Vythiri taluk and describes a landscape of steep hills, thick forest, meadows, streams and frequent mist. The approach follows the Chooralmala road from Meppadi before turning near Kalladi, where the character of the journey shifts toward plantation and mountain terrain.

Cardamom-growing areas, forest edges and deep valleys give the route much of its appeal, while the upper landscape rewards visitors with expansive views of Wayanad’s green hill country. Aranamala is better suited to travellers prepared for rural roads, walking and changing mountain weather than to those seeking a developed roadside attraction. Conditions can become slippery or obscured by fog, so sensible footwear and local guidance are useful when exploring.
