Aruvithura Vallyachan Mala

Aruvithura Vallyachan Mala is a hilltop Christian pilgrimage destination in the Aruvithura–Erattupetta area of Kottayam district. DTPC Kottayam describes the site as a pilgrimage centre on the Kondoor hills, with a small church modelled on the old Aruvithura church, a wayside cross traditionally associated with St. Thomas, fourteen Stations of the Cross and a large concrete cross that has become a visual landmark.

The hill also includes a representation of the Holy Sepulchre connected with Good Friday observances. Beyond its devotional importance, Vallyachan Mala attracts visitors for the open hill-country views and the sense of quiet above the busy settlements below. The climb and religious installations make it especially meaningful during Lent and Holy Week, though the viewpoint can be appreciated at other times as well.

Aruvithura is close to Erattupetta, allowing the hill to be combined with nearby churches and eastern Kottayam routes. Visitors should dress respectfully and follow pilgrimage-site rules.
