Ashtamudi Lake and Backwaters

Ashtamudi Lake and Backwaters is a signature tourism destination of Kollam district in Kerala and one of the state’s most important backwater systems. The name refers to the lake’s distinctive branching form, while its broad channels, smaller creeks, coconut-fringed banks and waterside settlements create the classic Kollam backwater experience.
