Azhithala Beach lies south of Bekal near Nileshwaram in Kasaragod district and is best known for the point where the Tejaswini River reaches the Arabian Sea. Keralam Tourism describes Azhithala as a calm and secluded coast, with casuarina trees adding to the character of the shoreline. The river mouth gives the landscape a changing mix of estuary water, sandbars, fishing activity and open sea, making the destination especially appealing for photography and evening walks.
It is not a highly built-up beach attraction, and that relative simplicity is part of its appeal. Visitors can combine Azhithala with Nileshwaram, Thaikadappuram Beach and the nearby backwater circuit for a varied day of coastal and riverside scenery. Because conditions around an estuary can change with tides and monsoon flow, swimming should never be assumed safe without local guidance.
The beach is most rewarding for relaxed sightseeing, nature observation and sunset visits.
