Chaliyam Pulimuttu

Chaliyam Pulimuttu is a coastal breakwater at Chaliyam in Kadalundi village, on the southern side of Kozhikode district. Kerala Tourism includes the Chaliyam breakwater in tourism routes connected with the Beypore coastal belt, an area shaped by fishing, waterways and Malabar's long maritime culture. The structure extends into the Arabian Sea and creates a striking viewpoint where visitors can watch fishing activity, changing tides and the meeting of coastal infrastructure with an open seascape.

The surroundings are especially atmospheric in the late afternoon, when sea breeze and broad horizon views make the area suitable for a relaxed walk or photography. Chaliyam is also close to Beypore, the Chaliyar estuary and other coastal attractions, making Pulimuttu a useful stop in a wider south-Kozhikode itinerary. As with any exposed breakwater, visitors should stay within safe accessible sections, avoid slippery rocks and rough-sea conditions, and follow local restrictions during monsoon or high-wave periods.
