About Chitranjali Studio

Chitranjali Studio is a major film-production complex at Thiruvallam in Thiruvananthapuram, owned by the Keralam State Film Development Corporation. Keralam government sources describe the studio as an important initiative created to strengthen Malayalam film production within the state. The campus developed with shooting floors, outdoor units and technical facilities used by the cinema industry, and the Central Board of Film Certification’s Thiruvananthapuram regional office is also located in the Chitranjali Studio Complex.

The studio therefore has institutional as well as cultural importance in Keralam’s screen history. It should not be treated like an always-open museum: entry to production areas may be restricted, and visitors should confirm whether any public programme, tour or permitted access is available before travelling specifically for a visit. The Thiruvallam location also places it near several southern Thiruvananthapuram heritage and backwater attractions.
