Jaya Prakash Narayanan Smrithi Vanam and Deer Park

Jaya Prakash Narayanan Smrithi Vanam and Deer Park, often shortened to J.P. Smrithivanam, is located at Walayar near the Keralam–Tamil Nadu border in Palakkad district. The Palakkad district administration describes the memorial forest and deer park as occupying about 10 acres of reserve-forest land, where deer and other animals can move within a natural setting.

The attraction differs from a conventional landscaped urban park: its appeal comes from the surrounding forest character and Walayar’s position on the eastern edge of Keralam. It can be combined with a visit to the Walayar reservoir and other nature-oriented stops in the area.
