Kadammanitta Devi Temple

Kadammanitta Devi Temple is situated in the village of Kadammanitta in Pathanamthitta district, Keralam. Dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali, the shrine is nationally known for Kadammanitta Padayani, one of the most prominent presentations of Keralam’s ancient ritual art form Padayani. The annual observance begins in the Malayalam month of Medam, generally falling in April–May, and continues for ten days.

Ritual fire-lighting, the rhythms of thappu and chenda, and the arrival of large Padayani kolams transform the temple grounds into a vivid meeting point of devotion, theatre, music and folk tradition.
