Kilimanoor Palace

Kilimanoor Palace is a historic palace complex at Kilimanoor in Chirayinkeezhu taluk, Thiruvananthapuram district, and is most widely recognised as the birthplace of painter Raja Ravi Varma. Keralam Tourism describes the site as a traditional Keralam palace with a long royal history and highlights the Chitrashala, the studio associated with Ravi Varma and built for his artistic work in the 19th century. The complex retains the scale and character of an old residential estate, with tiled roofs, courtyards, timber elements and mature greenery that help visitors imagine the cultural environment in which the artist grew up.
