Kundala Lake and Dam

Kundala Lake and Dam are located in the high ranges of Idukki on the scenic route from Munnar toward Top Station. Keralam Tourism describes Kundala as a picturesque settlement shaped by extensive tea plantations, a tranquil lake and an artificial dam, with the setting offering a quieter contrast to busier Munnar stops. The road journey itself is part of the appeal, passing through layered plantation scenery and cool mountain terrain.

Kundala is included in DTPC’s established Munnar sightseeing circuit together with Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, Top Station and Rajamala, so it works naturally as one stop in a full-day exploration of the region. Visitors generally come for the reservoir views, relaxed atmosphere and photography rather than for a large built attraction. With tea-covered hills rising around the water, Kundala represents the characteristic combination of plantation heritage and highland scenery that defines tourism in the Munnar area of Keralam.
