Kurumbalakotta Hill

Kurumbalakotta Hill is a prominent monolithic hill in Kottathara Panchayat, Vythiri taluk, in central Wayanad district, Keralam. The Keralam Revenue Department describes it as lying about 20 km west of Kalpetta and records an elevation of approximately 991 metres above sea level. Its elevated position opens broad views across the Wayanad plateau, where ridges, valleys and seasonal mist create a striking highland landscape.

The hill is valued primarily as a trekking and viewpoint destination rather than a developed tourism complex, and the climb rewards visitors with an expansive sense of central Wayanad’s geography. Venniyode is a nearby reference point for the Kottathara area. Early starts can offer cooler walking conditions and atmospheric mist, although visibility varies with weather.

Visitors should plan for uneven hill terrain, carry water and avoid assuming that exposed slopes will be safe during rain or poor visibility.
