Kuttampuzha Forest Region

Kuttampuzha Forest Region stretches across the eastern edge of Ernakulam district, Kerala, into the foothills and forest landscapes of the Western Ghats. Kerala Tourism describes Kuttampuzha as one of Kerala’s largest panchayats by area, with extensive evergreen and semi-evergreen forest, hill terrain and river systems linked to the Periyar basin. The Pooyamkutty, Vadattupara and Pinavoorkudy rivers are important features of the wider landscape, while dispersed settlements and significant tribal communities give the region a cultural identity distinct from urban Ernakulam.
