Malayalapuzha Bhagavathy Temple

Malayalapuzha Bhagavathy Temple is an important Hindu pilgrimage centre at Malayalapuzha in Pathanamthitta district, Keralam. The temple is dedicated to Bhagavathy and is traditionally regarded as an ancient shrine with a long history of local devotion. A notable feature is the main idol, created using the traditional Katu Sarkara Yogam method described in classical sculptural practice, in which natural materials and ritual ingredients are combined rather than relying on ordinary stone carving.

The temple’s annual festival takes place in the Malayalam month of Kumbham, generally during February–March, and concludes with aarattu, when the deity is taken in procession for the ceremonial bathing ritual. The shrine is within convenient road distance of Pathanamthitta town and can be combined with other religious and cultural attractions around Konni and the district headquarters.
