Mankayam Ecotourism

Mankayam Ecotourism is a forest recreation area near Palode in Nedumangad taluk, Thiruvananthapuram district. Keralam Tourism describes Mankayam as a State Forest Department ecotourism destination where the Mankayam river and its tributary landscape create waterfalls, clear streams and richly vegetated walking routes. Kalakkayam and Kurisadi are the best-known waterfall areas associated with this network.

The setting is valued less for built attractions and more for the experience of moving through evergreen and semi-evergreen forest, listening to running water and observing the plant and bird life of the foothills. Depending on official operations, guided trekking and other organised nature activities may be available.
