About Muloor Smarakam
Muloor Smarakam, also called Muloor Memorial, stands at Elavumthitta in Pathanamthitta district, Keralam. The site preserves the former home of Muloor S. Padmanabha Panicker (1869–1931), a noted Malayalam poet and social reformer remembered for combining literary talent with a strong commitment to social change.
The residence was converted into a memorial museum by the Keralam Department of Culture, helping preserve objects connected with Muloor’s life and work. The collection also includes belongings associated with Sree Narayana Guru, whose reform movement influenced an important period in Keralam’s modern social history. For visitors, the memorial is less about spectacle and more about understanding the people and ideas that shaped Malayalam literature and the state’s renaissance.
Its Elavumthitta location also offers a calm rural setting within easy reach of Pathanamthitta and Kozhencherry.
