Why this place stands out

Pandalam Suspension Bridge is a pedestrian crossing over the Achankovil River, offering river views and an easy heritage stop near Pandalam Palace and Valiyakoikkal Temple.

Pandalam Suspension Bridge is a distinctive pedestrian crossing over the Achankovil River in the heart of Pandalam. DTPC Pathanamthitta describes the bridge as linking the Sree Dharma Sastha temple side with the Kaipuzha Sree Krishna Temple area, giving it both practical local value and tourism interest. At roughly 70 metres in length, it offers a brief elevated walk above the river and a different perspective on Pandalam’s waterside landscape.

The bridge is especially easy to include in a heritage circuit with Pandalam Palace and Valiyakoikkal Temple, allowing visitors to experience the town on foot rather than only from the main roads. River levels and weather can change the atmosphere considerably between seasons. As it is a functioning pedestrian structure rather than an amusement attraction, visitors should avoid crowding, respect any posted load or access instructions and take extra care during rain or periods of high water.
