Pandavan Para

Pandavan Para, also known as Pandavan Rock, is a small hill attraction near Chengannur in Alappuzha district, Kerala. DTPC Alappuzha places it about 2 km from Chengannur town and records the local tradition that the Pandavas of the Mahabharata used the area as a hideout during their exile. The hillock contains unusual naturally shaped rocks, some compared locally with familiar forms and objects, and a temple dedicated to Lord Krishna stands at the top.

The main visitor reward is the elevated view over the greenery and settled landscape around Chengannur, making Pandavan Para a pleasant contrast to the backwater scenery more commonly associated with Alappuzha. The climb and terrain are relatively informal, so sensible footwear and caution during wet weather are advisable. It works well as a short cultural and nature stop combined with Chengannur Mahadeva Temple and other attractions in the eastern part of the district.
