Parambikulam Tiger Reserve

Parambikulam Tiger Reserve lies in the forested southern part of Palakkad district and forms an important wildlife landscape along the Kerala–Tamil Nadu border. The reserve includes moist and dry deciduous forests, evergreen patches, grasslands and reservoirs that support tigers, Asian elephants, gaur, deer, primates and a rich bird population. One of its best-known natural landmarks is the ancient Kannimara teak, celebrated as one of the region’s remarkable old teak trees.
