Plappally

Plappally is a locality on the forested eastern side of Pathanamthitta district, Keralam, within the broader Perunad and Sabarimala pilgrimage region of Ranni Taluk. Keralam Tourism route information includes Plappally on approaches toward Sabarimala, and the name is also associated with forest administration in the Pampa area. Its attraction is therefore primarily the journey through a wooded highland corridor and its role in pilgrimage geography rather than a managed wildlife-viewing facility.

During the Sabarimala season, traffic flow, parking and stopping rules can be tightly controlled, and forest sections may have restrictions designed for both visitor safety and wildlife protection. Travellers should not leave vehicles to enter forest land, feed animals or attempt unofficial shortcuts. Outside peak pilgrimage periods, the surrounding scenery can feel much quieter, but the same caution applies.
