About Seetharkundu Viewpoint and Waterfalls
Seetharkundu is one of the signature scenic stops in the Nelliyampathy hills of Palakkad district, Kerala. The site combines an elevated viewpoint with a waterfall that drops from the highland edge, opening wide views over the plains below. Kerala Tourism describes the waterfall as falling about 100 feet and notes that the viewpoint can reveal a large sweep of Palakkad and its surrounding countryside.
The place is also linked with a Ramayana tradition that associates Rama, Sita and Lakshmana with the area during their forest exile, while an Agasthya temple nearby adds murals and wooden sculpture to the cultural layer of the visit. Seetharkundu is usually experienced as part of a wider Nelliyampathy drive rather than as an isolated destination. Visibility changes with cloud, mist and rain, and the edges around viewpoints and waterfalls require particular caution in wet weather.
