State Soil Museum and Soil Information Centre

State Soil Museum and Soil Information Centre is housed at the Central Soil Analytical Laboratory complex in Parottukonam, Thiruvananthapuram. Developed by Keralam’s Department of Soil Survey and Soil Conservation, the museum brings the state’s diverse soils together in a form that can be studied and compared under one roof. Its most distinctive exhibits are soil monoliths—carefully preserved vertical sections showing the layers and characteristics of different soil types—supported by models, maps and interpretive material.
