Why this place stands out

Thirumullavaram Beach near Kollam city is a quiet Arabian Sea beach known for Njayarazhcha Para offshore rock, nearby Maha Vishnu temple traditions, coastal views and easy access from central Kollam.

Thirumullavaram Beach lies a short distance north of central Kollam and is one of the district’s most accessible quieter beaches. DTPC Kollam places it about six kilometres from the city, making it easy to combine with Thangassery and other Kollam coastal attractions. The shoreline is valued for open Arabian Sea views and a generally relaxed atmosphere, while Njayarazhcha Para, also known as Sunday Rock, is a distinctive offshore feature that becomes more noticeable around low tide.

The nearby Maha Vishnu temple and the observance of Vavu Bali give the area an important cultural dimension in addition to its recreational appeal. Visitors commonly come for sea views, photography, family outings and evening walks. As with all open-coast beaches in Keralam, swimming conditions depend on currents, weather and local safety guidance.

Thirumullavaram’s combination of proximity to the city, temple traditions and a less urban feel makes it a useful stop for travellers exploring the Kollam shoreline beyond the main city beach.
