Trivandrum Astronomical Observatory

Trivandrum Astronomical Observatory at Observatory Hills is one of Thiruvananthapuram’s most historically important scientific institutions. Founded in 1836–37 during the reign of Swathi Thirunal, it supported early astronomical and timekeeping work and later became part of the University of Keralam. Today it combines scientific heritage, academic activity and public astronomy outreach in the Keralam capital.

Trivandrum Astronomical Observatory, officially associated with the University of Keralam, stands at Observatory Hills in Thiruvananthapuram.
