Urakkuzhi Waterfalls lies within the broader Kakkayam ecotourism landscape of Kozhikode district, an area connected with the Malabar Wildlife Sanctuary and the forested Western Ghats. Kerala Tourism specifically identifies a trekking trail to Urakkuzhi as one of Kakkayam's popular ecotourism programmes, describing the route as a walk through jungle terrain toward a hidden waterfall.
