Inchathotty Suspension Bridge

Inchathotty Suspension Bridge is a pedestrian hanging bridge across the Periyar River in the forested eastern belt of Ernakulam district, Kerala. Kerala Tourism describes the bridge as approximately 185 metres long and widely regarded as Kerala’s longest pedestrian hanging bridge. It connects the Keerampara and Kuttampuzha panchayat sides, serving a practical local role while also attracting visitors for the broad views of the river, forest canopy and distant hills.

The gentle movement of the suspended walkway adds to the experience, while the centre of the span provides an excellent vantage point for photography. Inchathotty has also developed a reputation for kayaking on the Periyar, with routes passing through quieter forest-fringed stretches of water. Travellers exploring Thattekkad, Bhoothathankettu and Neriamangalam often include the bridge as a scenic stop.
