Karumadi Kuttan Buddha Statue

Karumadi Kuttan, also called Karumadikuttan, is an important Buddhist heritage site at Karumadi near Ambalappuzha in Alappuzha district, Keralam. The attraction centres on a roughly three-foot black-granite image of the Buddha, believed by Keralam Tourism to date from between the 9th and 14th centuries. The damaged statue is valued as a surviving reminder of the period when Buddhist traditions had a presence in Keralam.
