Kolavi Palam Beach is located at Payyoli on the Kozhikode coast and is known for more than its long sandy shoreline. Keralam Tourism highlights the beach as an important nesting ground for endangered Olive Ridley sea turtles, which traditionally come ashore during the nesting season. Local fishermen have been associated with 'Theeram', a conservation initiative created to help protect nests and eggs, giving the beach a strong community-based conservation identity.
The coast is also noted for shallow waters, golden sand and coconut-fringed surroundings, and it lies between the Payyoli and Vadakara coastal stretches.
