Kunchan Nambiar Smarakam at Killikkurissimangalam in Palakkad celebrates the birthplace and legacy of Kunchan Nambiar, the celebrated poet credited with creating Ottan Thullal. The government-supported memorial includes his ancestral house, a museum, library and performance space, while training and annual cultural programmes keep the Thullal tradition alive for students, performers and visitors to Keralam's performing-arts heritage.

Kunchan Nambiar Smarakam is located at Killikkurissimangalam near Lakkidi in Palakkad district, at the birthplace of the poet and performer Kunchan Nambiar. His satirical genius gave Keralam Ottan Thullal, a lively solo performance tradition that combines dance, music, storytelling and social commentary. The ancestral Kalakkath house was developed as a memorial in 1976 through a Government of Keralam initiative.

Today the centre includes a museum displaying Thullal costumes and related material, a library, and a kalithattu or stage used for performances. Training in Thullal helps pass the art form to new generations. The memorial observes Kunchan Day on May 5 and also hosts cultural activities during Navarathri and Vijayadasami.

For visitors, it is both a heritage home and a working cultural institution, offering context for one of Keralam's most accessible classical-satirical art forms.
