Marmala Waterfalls is a dramatic natural attraction near Teekoy in the eastern highlands of Kottayam district. The waterfall is associated with the Vazhikkadavu River, a tributary in the wider Meenachil river system, and lies within a landscape of forest and rubber plantations. Reaching the falls traditionally involves a walk of around two kilometres through plantation and uneven terrain, which gives the visit a sense of seclusion.
The cascade drops strongly into a deep pool enclosed by rock; official tourism information specifically cautions that the pool can be dangerous, so entering the water is not advisable without clear local safety guidance.
