Seetha Devi Lava Kusa Temple

Seetha Devi Lava Kusa Temple is a prominent pilgrimage site at Pulpally in Sulthan Bathery taluk, Wayanad district, Keralam. DTPC Wayanad describes it as one of the few temples in Keralam dedicated to Goddess Seetha and notes the presence of idols connected with Lava and Kusa. The temple’s traditions are closely tied to episodes from the Ramayana: local belief associates Pulpally with Seetha’s exile and with Sage Valmiki offering her shelter.

The shrine is also linked with the 18th-century period of Pazhassi Raja, under whose management it is said to have functioned for many years. Today the temple is managed by the Malabar Devaswom Board, while a member of the Kuppathode family retains a trustee role according to DTPC information. Keralam Tourism also highlights the wider Pulpally landscape for its Ramayana traditions.

Located close to Pulpally town, the temple is both an active place of worship and an important cultural attraction in eastern Wayanad.
