Choottad Beach and Park

Choottad Beach and Park, officially promoted by DTPC Kannur as Puthiyangadi Choottad Beach Park, is a distinctive recreation spot near Pazhayangadi and Payyannur in Kannur district, Kerala. Its main attraction is the meeting of contrasting landscapes: the sea lies on one side, backwaters on the other, and casuarina trees provide a green coastal setting. Ezhimala rises in the background, giving the beach park a recognisable North Malabar character.

The destination is designed for family outings as well as sightseeing, with children's rides, snack and ice-cream outlets, and opportunities for boating and kayaking. Evening visits are particularly popular because the changing light over the water highlights both the beach and backwater sides of the park.
