Kannur Lighthouse

Kannur Lighthouse is an important maritime landmark within Kannur city in northern Kerala. The Directorate General of Lighthouses and Lightships records a long history of navigation aids in Kannur: an oil-lamp lantern system was introduced in the nineteenth century, later lights operated from structures associated with St. Angelo Fort, and the present lighthouse tower was commissioned on 25 July 1976.

Today the site adds a maritime dimension to Kannur's better-known coastal attractions, connecting the city's port history with modern navigation infrastructure.
