Marunnara

Marunnara is a small but historically important Mamankam monument in the Kodakkal–Thirunavaya region of Malappuram district, Kerala. Both Malappuram District Administration and the Kerala Revenue Department connect the site with storage of explosives or wartime materials during the conflicts associated with Mamankam. The Revenue Department places Marunnara on the Kodakkal–Bandar Road.

The monument illustrates how the Mamankam landscape extended beyond ceremonial and trading grounds to include practical military spaces as rivalry over the festival intensified. Visitors should view Marunnara as part of a connected heritage route rather than as an isolated attraction.
