Veeramala Hills

Veeramala Hills is a scenic hill destination at Cheruvathur in the southern part of Kasaragod district. Official tourism information highlights the panoramic view from the hill over the Kariangode River and its green surroundings. The summit area is also associated with the ruins of a fort described in district and Keralam Tourism material as an 18th-century Dutch fort, giving the destination an unusual combination of landscape and historic remains.

The hill can be combined with Cheruvathur, Padanna and nearby backwater destinations for a varied day in southern Kasaragod. Visitors should take normal precautions on exposed or uneven ground and be especially careful during the monsoon, when laterite surfaces and pathways can become slippery.
